The FAQs
HIIT is a popular form of interval training that alternates between short bursts of high-intensity with periods of low-intensity active rest. Intervals can range from 10 seconds to 4 minutes. Generally, a HIIT workout can be completed within 45 minutes.
HIIT workouts have gained popularity due to their ability to provide similar health benefits to steady-state moderate intensity exercise in much less time.
No, not at all. We use the MyZone heart rate monitoring system to ensure you're at your correct intensity throughout the workout. Our coaches adjust to individual needs and are there to encourage you, not hurt you.
Yes, you must book a spot in a class prior to attending. This ensures the Coach sets up the room correctly for the number of participants. You can book via the website Timetable option.
If you're not a member and wish to trial a class, simply email us at info@hiitrepublic.com.au and we will organise for you to attend a class at no cost.
If you aim for 2-3 sessions a week you should start to see a difference in about 3-4 weeks. Remember to maintain an appropriate diet during the same period.
Generally yes. If an aerobic base is developed over time and training protocols are followed properly, HIIT can be a safe and effective method of exercise. Those with serious heart conditions should consult their doctor first.
We would not recommend it for an average individual. The purpose of HIIT is to give 100% effort and then allow 24-48 hours for recovery. A second session wouldn't be as effective and could lead to injury.
